As a landscape photographer I employ my personal visual vocabulary in an effort to make the familiar new and unfamiliar. I am especially drawn to rich and complicated textural abstractions, optical illusions, sculptural forms.
The images in this portfolio are part of an ongoing project whose subject, at heart, is landscapes and ice-scapes–rock and ice–viewed in a way that elicits more questions than answers. They were made over a period of years in a variety of places; they are certainly of their locations but not about their locations. These images comprise a complete, although not necessarily completed, body of work.
